boxIT, LLC was founded in July 2001 by Thor Myhrstad and Reed Sandberg, two ex-engineers from NBCi. NBCi had tried to standardize communications using a Microsoft Exchange server for its 900+ employees and found that it was just not up to the task. Thus, Reed and Thor set out to build a better means of managing e-mail and collaborating with fellow workers.

boxIT’s first client joined in September 2001 with only a subset of the services offered today. The beta-testing period started in January 2002 and ended in January of 2003. No security breaches have invaded the systems, no clients have been lost, and the system has never been down.

boxIT wants staff to reap the benefits of a large IT department. Through the very robust suite of IT services and solutions we have created and continue to create.
